In more 3G HSDPA news this week, Ericsson successfully upgraded Tokyo’s Vodafone commercial network to support HSDPA. The software and hardware upgrades that were implemented support downstream rates of up to 3.6Mbps and 384Kbps up. Unfortunately, for the Vodafone customers in central Tokyo, the HSDPA upgrade has not been activated for commercial use. More good news that HSDPA will be able to make it here in the US soon with few barriers to integrate. But, we will see.
